Launch counts up, money not yet
Something twitched. According to a BeInCrypto report published December 8, the number of tokens minted on pump.fun each day pushed past 25,000 on December 2 and stayed above 20,000 through the first week of the month — the busiest the launchpad has been since mid-September.
Before anyone declares meme season reopened: the same report notes platform revenue and DEX volume remain roughly 80% below where they sat in early 2025. Lots of tokens, much thinner wallets behind them.

The same trader cautioned that this may be temporary rather than a sign of sustained recovery, which is the sanest sentence in the whole story. BeInCrypto also notes pump.fun's ecosystem ranked as the market's third-best performing category in the first week of December per CoinGecko, and that week-four user retention sat at 12.4% — above typical Web2 benchmarks of 5–10%.
What it means for degens
Launch count is the cheapest metric on the chain. Minting a token costs pennies, so the number goes up whenever a handful of bot operators get bored — it measures supply of lottery tickets, not demand for them. The honest signal in this dataset is the gap: creation back near September highs while revenue and volume sit 80% down means far more tokens chasing far less liquidity than the last time the counter read this high.
