The volume figures are the part worth noting. WIF turning over roughly 61% of its market cap in a day is not a thin-book squeeze; that is genuine two-sided flow. Coin Gabbar puts the total Solana meme market cap at $4.04 billion with about $937 million in daily volume, led by TRUMP and PENGU in the most recent session.

The base layer got faster, again

Solana reduced its target slot time from 300 milliseconds to 250, shortening block confirmation times across the network. In the same daily report, KuCoin notes Visa has begun closing the credit-card rewards loophole on memecoin purchases, meaning those transactions will now be treated as crypto transactions.

What it means for degens

A SOL move to eight-month highs and a simultaneous dog-coin bid is the classic sequencing: majors first, memes second, with the lag measured in days. The uncomfortable footnote is that this rally comes after a month in which Solana ETF inflows went nearly flat — so the marginal buyer here is onchain, not institutional. That tends to make moves fast in both directions.
