The cliff arrived
After a week of traders pricing it in, Pump.fun's first major vesting unlock actually happened. Coverage of the event puts the release at 57.279 billion $PUMP, worth approximately $86.49 million at the time, spread across 121 wallets. That made it the biggest single Solana token unlock of July.

The number worth sitting with is 121. Unlocks that land in a handful of wallets behave differently from unlocks spread across thousands of small holders: fewer decision-makers, faster coordination, and a distribution pattern that is easy to watch on-chain if you know which addresses to follow.
Meanwhile, a very different kind of access
On July 16, E*TRADE launched spot crypto trading for solana, bitcoin and ether, routing through Zero Hash. It is the unglamorous side of the same ecosystem: retail brokerage customers getting $SOL exposure through an account that also holds their index funds.
What it means for degens
Unlocks are supply events, not verdicts. The useful read over the coming sessions is behavioural: whether those 121 wallets move tokens toward exchanges or leave them parked. Pump.fun's buyback-and-burn programme has been pulling supply the other way all year, so the question is simply which flow is bigger.
For memecoin traders specifically, none of this changes what happens on the launchpad itself. Tokens still launch, most still fail, and the platform still takes its fee either way. The unlock changes who owns the platform, not how it works.
