The launchpad becomes an app
On August 7, Pump.fun rolled out an updated social trading product with zero-fee trading and cross-chain USDC support, and it cleared more than $113 million in volume inside 24 hours, according to Altcoin Buzz. CoinMarketCap's platform log describes the same push as real-time coin alerts for people you follow plus USDC-powered trading beyond Solana, turning the mobile app into something closer to a social trading terminal.
The business logic is not subtle. Every feature that keeps you in the app is a feature that routes your flow through the protocol, and Altcoin Buzz notes $33.73 million in revenue over the previous 30 days with 50% of net revenue committed to buying and burning $PUMP from the market for a year.
- Zero-fee trading on the updated product
- Cross-chain USDC support, so the funnel is no longer Solana-only
- Follower alerts that turn other traders' entries into your notifications
The catch on the calendar
PUMP was riding a 31.9% weekly gain near $0.00276 and a 91% run over 30 days, per the same report, with an unlock of roughly seven billion tokens flagged as the main risk to that move. Supply hitting the market is the one variable buybacks do not control.
What it means for degens
Copy-trading features are a two-way mirror. They let you follow sharper wallets; they also let sharper wallets farm the exit liquidity that follows them in. Zero fees lower the cost of being early and the cost of being exit liquidity by exactly the same amount. Read the follower counts as a crowding indicator, not a signal.
