After a very quiet second half of 2025, Solana's coin factory has restarted. 99Bitcoins reports that the number of new tokens created daily on pump.fun surged to nearly 39,000, the highest level since April 2025, with more than 37,000 coins deployed in a single 24-hour stretch. The expansion did not appear out of nowhere either: per the same report, the climb began on Jan. 22 and has been building since.
The people metric moved with it. Daily active addresses on the platform reached 300,000 on Jan. 27, which 99Bitcoins calls the highest figure since early last year. Users, not just bots spraying contracts, are back in the feed.

What it means for degens
Analysts cited in the report read the pickup as a sign that appetite for Solana meme coins is genuinely returning, and note that plenty of Solana meme coins put in strong January performances even while broad market sentiment stayed stuck in fear. That is the familiar shape of a meme cycle: the tape goes risk-off, the casino goes risk-on.
The honest read is that launch counts measure supply, not demand. Thirty-nine thousand new tickets a day is thirty-nine thousand new ways to be somebody's exit. Deeper books and more eyeballs make the good setups tradable; they do not make the median coin survivable.
