From launchpad to trading stack
Pump.fun announced the deal via X on Thursday, The Block reports, saying Vyper's infrastructure will soon be migrated into Terminal and the original Vyper product will be retired. It is the second such purchase in a few months: Pump.fun bought Padre in October 2025 and rebranded it as Terminal for multichain memecoin trading.
The stated target is execution quality outside Solana. Per The Block, the Terminal team said EVM support is the point of the deal, with Base explicitly named. Co-founder Alon Cohen framed the ambition as building fast, efficient cross-chain trading infrastructure rather than another front end.
EVM support is a core focus for Terminal. With Vyper's infrastructure & talent, expect trading on EVM (including Base) to massively improve.

What it means for degens
Pump.fun has spent two years owning the moment a coin is born. Buying execution tooling is a play to also own the moment it is traded β and, more to the point, the fees on both. For traders that is a real convenience and a real concentration risk: one company increasingly sits on the launch, the routing and the terminal you are clicking.
The cross-chain angle is the tell. A Solana-native launchpad shopping for EVM execution is not a company betting that all the action stays on Solana forever. Whether Terminal actually fills better than the router you already use is an empirical question β test it with size you can afford to lose.
