Three days of giving it back
Tuesday's bounce did not survive the week. Yahoo Finance reports bitcoin opening at $62,882.88 on Friday, down 2.4% from Thursday's open and drifting to $62,498.60 by 8:30 a.m. ET. Ether opened at $1,709.13, down 2.2%, falling to $1,687.60 over the same window.
The cause, per Yahoo Finance, is straightforward: prices have been sliding since Wednesday's conclusion of the Fed meeting, which left rates unchanged but sent strong signals that higher interest rates could be coming later this year. Unchanged plus a hawkish lean is the worst combination for the long end of the risk curve.

What it means for degens
Memecoins are the longest-duration asset in crypto in the only sense that matters: they are pure claim on future attention with no cash flow to discount. A Fed that hints at higher rates later in the year is not something a three-day-old ticker can price around. It just means the risk-free alternative got a little louder, and the marginal speculator got a little more patient.
Practically, the read for anyone trading Solana launchpads is that the macro calendar is currently steering the tape more than anything on-chain. Days like this are for watching, not for confusing a dead-cat bounce with a rotation.
