Yahoo Finance reported bitcoin opening at $73,525.74 on Friday, down 1.1% from Thursday's open, then slipping to $73,381.81 by 7:42 a.m. ET. Ether opened at $2,006.97, off 0.7%, and sat at $2,003.66 at the same timestamp.
The headline on that report matters more than the numbers: prices opened lower despite news of a U.S.-Iran truce. Geopolitical de-escalation is normally the kind of thing risk assets like. This tape decided not to care.

What it means for degens
There is no Solana-specific catalyst in any of this, and that is precisely the point. Memecoin liquidity is downstream of majors. When bitcoin refuses to bid on genuinely constructive macro news, the marginal dollar that would otherwise rotate into a fresh launch tends to stay parked.
