The memecoin shows up in a committee document
$TRUMP launched on Solana in January and spent the year as the most politically loaded ticker on the chain. It has now been itemised in a congressional report, which is a first for the category and probably not the last.
- $11.6B
- Trump family crypto holdings since Jan 2025
- ~$362M
- attributed to the TRUMP memecoin
- ~$65M
- attributed to MELANIA
- $800M+
- digital asset sales, first half of 2025
The report also attributes roughly $550 million to the WLFI token and up to $42 million in potential from the USD1 stablecoin, and lists broader allegations: federal crypto oversight dismantled, investigations into major crypto companies paused or ended, pardons issued to industry figures including Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, and foreign nationals and state-linked entities investing in Trump ventures in pursuit of influence.

What it means for degens
A minority-party report is a political document, not an enforcement action, and nothing here changes anyone's cost basis today. What it does change is the temperature around celebrity and political token launches. When the largest celebrity coin in the market gets a line item in a committee report that also calls for tightening campaign finance and conflict-of-interest law, the regulatory conversation stops being about launchpads in the abstract and starts being about specific tickers. That tends to precede rules, and rules tend to land on the smallest issuers hardest.
