Record week, meme-shaped
Solana just posted its busiest week on record: roughly 1.3 billion non-voting transactions, according to a Cryptopolitan report carried by Bitget News. Solana's own August roundup puts the week of August 17-23 at 1.32 billion, an all-time high and the fourth consecutive week above one billion. Non-vote means validator voting traffic is stripped out, so this is people and bots actually doing things.
The report is blunt about what those things are: meme token activity. Two engines get named. The Fomo app, which has been pulling users in with influencer copy-trading and which Solana's roundup says ranked third in the U.S. iPhone Finance chart on August 21, ahead of Cash App. And Pump.fun, logging over $4.9 million in daily fees and passing Hyperliquid as the leading on-chain application once stablecoin platforms are excluded.

The supporting numbers
Around 2.6 million daily active users, more than $10 million in daily app-based fees, monthly app revenues above $250 million, and a burn rate of 1.53% as of August 23 β the highest since early 2025. $SOL traded near $96.19, its best level since May. Governance is moving too, with a constitution to formalise voting rules and an emissions proposal running through August 27.
What it means for degens
A copy-trading app in the top three finance apps in the U.S. App Store is the part that should make you sit up, and not entirely in a good way. Copy-trading scales a strategy and its crowding at the same rate. The more people mirroring the same wallets, the thinner the edge and the uglier the exit when those wallets turn.
The constructive read: fees this large mean liquidity is genuinely there, which is the precondition for anything else. The cautious read: a record built on app-driven meme flow is a record that unwinds when the app stops trending.
