The house had a very good week

Pump.fun booked $10.03 million in protocol fees for the week of August 3-9, described in the platform's newsletter as its first week above $10M and a 12% increase on the week before, according to crypto.news. Over 30 days its revenue hit $35.67 million, edging past Hyperliquid's $32.46 million on DefiLlama data, though crypto.news is careful to note the two platforms measure revenue differently.

Ecosystem trading volume came in at $2.97 billion, the strongest week since late January. Of the fee haul, $5.02 million went into buying and burning roughly 2.15 billion $PUMP, part of the standing commitment to route half of revenue into repurchases through a locked contract. The token traded near $0.0028, up 33.8% on the week and 104.1% over 30 days, with a circulating market cap around $1.1 billion.

And the competition folded

Crypto Briefing reports Pump.fun recovered to roughly 98% of tracked launchpad revenue by early August, pulling $1.1 million from $542 million in trading volume, after LetsBonk chipped away at it with token incentives in early July. Graduated-token market share settled back into the 70-80% range. The stated reasons are boring and durable: network effects, brand recognition and sheer volume of token creation.

What it means for degens

Fees are the one number on a launchpad that cannot be faked, and $10M in a week means the trenches were genuinely busy. But the same week ends with 6.875 billion tokens unlocking, worth about $19.2 million per crypto.news. Buybacks remove supply on a schedule; unlocks add it on a different one. Watch which schedule is bigger in any given month before treating burns as a floor.
