The trenches are open again
After weeks parked in the 10-15% range, memecoins clawed back to 29% of Solana's spot DEX volume in the week of July 20-26, the biggest share since August 2025, according to a Cryptopolitan report carried by Bitget News. Crypto Briefing puts the daily peak even higher, noting the share briefly touched 42% on some days.
The named catalyst is $ANSEM, formally The Black Bull, a community token that launched on Pump.fun in late June. Cryptopolitan reports it ran roughly 18,000% in three days and carried a $449 million market cap by July 7. Other outlets clock the move differently over different windows, which is what happens when a chart goes vertical and every desk picks its own start date.
Memes are loud, not dominant
Worth keeping in your head before you start quoting "meme-dominated Solana" at dinner parties: the same report says SOL-stablecoin pairs accounted for 37% of volume that week and stablecoin swaps another 22%. Memecoins came second. The report also flags stablecoin supply on the network above $15 billion and 2,582 tokenized real-world assets, the most of any chain by asset count.

What it means for degens
One token dragging a whole category back to a year-long high is the most Solana thing imaginable, and it cuts both ways: share numbers built on a single runner unwind just as fast as they built. Treat the 29% as a temperature reading on speculative appetite, not as proof the cycle turned. SolDrip is watching whether the share holds when ANSEM stops being the main character.
